Entre los objetivos claves del Proceso Bolonia se encuentra la mejora de la empleabilidad de los graduados de Educación Superior y por este motivo, nuestra investigación pretende analizar los procesos y contenidos de las transiciones de los estudiantes no tradicionales desde la universidad al mercado de trabajo, centrándonos en las dos siguientes dimensiones o categorías: a) las expectativas y los objetivos de los estudiantes no tradicionales en el momento en que concluyen sus estudios de grado; b) el conocimiento y experiencias que poseen de los servicios de orientación. Este estudio se encuadra en el proyecto europeo EMPLOY (Enhancing the Employability of Non-traditional Students in Higher Education, Programa Erasmus+). Para ello, se han realizado 8 entrevistas (3 hombres y 1 mujer; cuatro son de primera generación y tres de ellos tienen bajo capital económico) biográficas individuales a estudiantes no tradicionales pertenecientes a diferentes áreas de conocimiento de la Universidad de Sevilla. Las entrevistas, con un enfoque longitudinal, se han realizado en dos fases. La primera entrevista se ha realizado durante el último año del grado. La segunda entrevista se ha llevado a cabo un año después. En relación con la segunda entrevista, los resultados muestran que tres estudiantes aún no habían concluido el grado universitario, mientras que un estudiante estaba concluyendo un máster. Las expectativas de desarrollo profesional y de inserción en el mercado laboral de estos cuatro estudiantes seguían siendo, sorprendentemente, escasas e imprecisas. Los estudiantes no habían desarrollado estrategias ni recursos para favorecer su acceso al mercado laboral y consideraban importante concluir el grado y, posteriormente, realizar un máster. El conocimiento y la experiencia de los servicios de orientación laboral eran prácticamente inexistentes. Consideraban importante buscar empleo a través de su red de contactos. El acceso a empleos públicos tenía un especial atractivo para estos estudiantes, frente a buscar empleo en el sector privado. |
