In the present work, it was developed a functional safety system for the flexible manufacturing cell installed in the Systems and Automation Engineering department, in order to comply with the regulations of the Machinery Directive 2006/42 / CE that entered into force on December 29, 2009 and basically indicates that anything machine within the European Union (EU) must guarantee a minimum level of security for the machine itself and for all users involved in the stages of: design / manufacturing, installation, adjustment / operation and maintenance in the useful life of the machine. A flexible manufacturing cell is composed of different work points that can work in a dependent manner or in conjunction with the other positions, for this reason the analysis of all possible risks was carried out individually. Once determined, the existing risks were chosen elements, equipment and devices for the reduction or at best, the elimination of such risks. The flexible manufacturing cell installed in the Systems and Automation Engineering department was used as a platform for student learning and several works were constantly carried out to improve the functioning of each work point. Currently the flexible manufacturing cell is formed by a circuit of five conveyor belts where the trays are deposited, the same ones that are stored or extracted from a feeder are approved on the conveyor belts. A robotic matrix warehouse is in charge of serving pallets in the trays or storing the pallets that were previously placed on the pallets. |
