In this work, we will consider the study of the FitzHugh-Nagumo system, a simplification of the well-known Hodgkin-Huxley model of spike generation of neurons. We will study the FitzHugh-Nagumo system from the point of view of dynamical systems and bifurcation theory. In particular, we will focus, among others, in the Hopf bifurcation and the associated canard explosion. |
