This Note de synthèse, based on a bibliography of around 450 texts, presents an overview on Life histories approaches within a non Francophone European context (but in relation to the Francophone contributions), specially on adult education and lifelong learning. Research education and intervention are three key areas reviewed. The author comments important changes in the last few decades regarding economic globalisation and qualitative epistemology. Contributions from Italy, United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark and Spain are presented and discussed. An aim of this Note is to relate Life histories approaches to theories and paradigms such as Neorealism, Neomarxism, Critical Theory, Narrative Psychology, Hermeneutics, Phenomenology and Poststructuralism |
