Polanski directs The tragedy of Macbeth shortly after his wife´s tragic death, Sharon Tate. From some viewpoints, this fact marked considerably the film, which was one of the least acclaimed Polanski´s movies. In this essay, we have comparated in detail Polanski´s film and William Shakespeare´s play and we have concluded that this film is completely related to the vast majority of this film maker´s movies. Polanski´s version respects the text from the play and perfectly reproduces the Middle Ages. The film director proves again his great uncontrolled imagination since he stages scenes that Shakespeare only suggests. |
