Las campanas, la música, los cantos y los cohetes eran parte del culto a sus imágenes, y de sus símbolos corporativos. En la segunda mitad del siglo, la Corona y el episcopado, inspirados en una nueva sensibilidad, calificarán de desordenados, superfluos e incluso profanos algunos de esos sonidos, procurando reducirlos o eliminarlos para proteger el carácter religioso de esas corporaciones.
