La escritura del mundo

Abstract

El mapa de un arquitecto es un paisaje alternativo, una representación intencionada del medio que se aleja del documento impuesto y apunta la posibilidad de transformarlo, así comienza el proyecto; el sentido inverso, llevar al territorio los signos del plano, remite a la esencia de la arquitectura y su capacidad de alterar el mundo. Nuestras representaciones describen una realidad y a su vez son otra distinta, entre ambos campos se produce un flujo que los liga y los condiciona. La cartografía está relacionada con la idea de microcosmos, la arquitectura tiene algo de descripción del universo a través de fragmentos concretos. A veces es necesario distanciarse para comprenderlo; otras, la extrapolación a partir de una pequeña conquista permite modificarlo desde límites que apenas se alejan de nuestro cuerpo. Acaso proyectar consista en encontrar la distancia adecuada. La mirada sensible del arquitecto traza asociaciones y planifica encuentros, en el plano de su mesa conviven trabajos en desarrollo de escalas diversas con proyectos ajenos e ideas propias, en esta contigüidad comienzan a surgir relaciones. Para un arquitecto, que al proyectar describe realidades todavía inexistentes, los proyectos y las investigaciones son un lugar para la especulación y la mirada personal. Lectura y escritura constituyen un proceso continuo y creador.

The map of an architect is an alternative landscape, a deliberate representation of the environment which moves away from the imposed document and points out the possibility to transform it, thus begins the project. The inverse sense, to take the contents of the plan to the land, transmits the essence of architecture and its capacity to alter the world. Our representations describe one reality, whilst being of another, a flow takes place between both fields that ties and determines them. Cartography is related to the microcosm idea, architecture has something of the description of the universe through concrete fragments. Sometimes it is necessary to be distanced from it to understand it. At others, the extrapolation from a small conquest allows it to be modified from limits that are barely apart from our body. Perhaps planning consists of finding the suitable distance. The sensitive view of the architect draws associations and plans meetings, on their drafting table works coexist that develop diverse scales with other people’s projects and the architect’s own ideas. In this contiguity, relationships begin to emerge. For an architect, who when planning describes still nonexistent realities, the projects and the investigations are a place for speculation and personal viewpoint. Reading and writing constitute a continuous and creative process.
