The aim of this paper is to present the current project to edit the Dizionario di Fraseologia dell'Italiano Regionale (DFIR) and its electronic version (@DFIR). This dictionary includes Italian geophraseologisms, and is based on current lexicographical sources. It aims to make available a unified source of regional Italian phraseology to students and researchers of Italian linguistics. It details the methodological criteria applied to selecting the items and also proposes a model of phraseological card in both formats printed and online version. Meanwhile, the @DFIR is proposed as a database regularly updated, accessible via the internet, and with multiple search features that will allow users to obtain relevant information not only strictly concerning lexicography, but also from the semantic (types of semantic fields) and cognitive points of view (metaphors underlying meaning of geophraseologisms).
