This paper is a contribution to the knowledge of the anthroponomy of the Sephardic community of Pisa. This paper is a contribution to the knowledge of the anthroponomy of the Sephardic community of Pisa. Founded at the end of the 16th century, it was soon surpassed by neighboring Livorno. The abundant Pisan documentation since 1660 invites a study of the personal names of its members, viewing it from the historical context of such community. Following the publication of a list of its residents, a study of its onomastic structure (given and family name) and transmission is proposed. The data gathered shows that the names, as usual, are of Hebrew origin, whereas the surnames stand out those of Iberian origin |
