Caso Púnica, Gürtel, Palau, Bárcenas, estos son solo algunos de los ejemplos más significativos de los más de 2.000 casos de corrupción que han sacudido España desde el año 2000. Ante la oleada de políticos españoles inmersos en estas tramas, las instituciones públicas han puesto en marcha medidas por la transparencia para intentar combatir esta lacra, que afecta al sistema democrático actual. A las preocupaciones diarias de los ciudadanos, se suma la corrupción, como recogen los distintos barómetros del CIS. Ante este contexto, los portales de transparencia se convierten en herramientas de las administraciones públicas para acercar la información de interés a la ciudadanía. El Gobierno español dispone de una web dedicada a este fin, pero ¿es esta herramienta eficaz? ¿Cumple con los objetivos que se le presuponen o quizás la transparencia solo sería una medida popular? El objetivo principal de la investigación es conocer las estrategias y recursos de las instituciones públicas para fomentar los índices de transparencia en el ámbito de la Política. Sobre una muestra que abarca desde la semana previa elecciones generales (22 - 28 de abril) hasta la semana posterior a la celebración de las mismas (29 de abril - 5 de mayo), se diseña una metodología de análisis de contenido comparativo cuantitativo y cualitativo (Hostil y Stone, 1969), que mide los temas tratados (más de 135.200 publicaciones) en las cuentas de Twitter de los candidatos políticos (@sanchezcastejon del PSOE, (@pablocasado, del PP, (@Albert_Rivera, de Ciudadanos, @Pablo Iglesias, de Unidas Podemos y @Santi_ABASCAL, de Vox) de los cinco partidos de referencia, así como los barómetros del CIS correspondientes a los meses de muestreo. En paralelo, se realiza una encuesta (Corbetta, 2007) en la que los ciudadanos valoran diferentes aspectos relacionados con el portal de transparencia del Gobierno central. Los resultados obtenidos confirman las siguientes conclusiones: Primero: el portal de transparencia del Gobierno de España no es de utilidad para los ciudadanos. Segundo: la temática utilizada por los candidatos en sus cuentas personales durante la campaña y los resultados postelectorales no coinciden con los problemas que más preocupan a los españoles, según los tres últimos barómetros del CIS. Tercero: Los indicadores sobre las preocupaciones ciudadanas no son tenidos en cuenta por los políticos, a pesar de la bidireccionalidad que se reconoce a Twitter.
