El Museo del Vidrio y Cristal de Málaga, una Colección Museografiada

Abstract

Desde comienzos de este siglo, en España, son numerosos los museos que han surgido a partir de la musealización de colecciones. En Andalucía cabe destacar el Museo del Vidrio, que se crea a partir de la colección de Gonzalo Fernandez Prieto. Un Museo de Artes Decorativas que propone recorrer la historia de la humanidad a través del vidrio. Una colección de carácter científico, cuyas piezas más antiguas datan de la época helenística llegando hasta la actualidad. Las obras están contextualizadas con mobiliario y con pinturas que son también de su propiedad, permitiendo al espectador poder recrear el contexto en el que fueron producidas las piezas, al mismo tiempo que puede descubrir su significado en cada periodo.

Since the beginning of this century, in Spain, there are many museums that have emerged from the museological collections. In Andalusia, especifically in Malaga we can see the Collection of Glass known as the Glass Museum, which is created from the collection of Gonzalo Fernandez-Prieto. A Museum of Decorative Arts which aims to trace the history of humanity throughout glass work. A collection of scientific cut, whose oldest pieces date back to the Hellenistic period to the present. The works are contextualized with furniture and paintings which are also owned, allowing the viewer to recreate the context in which the pieces were produced at the same time revealing the meaning of each period.
