El primer desafío del nuevo milenio, "El efecto 2000": sus repercusiones contables

Abstract

El mundo afronta actualmente uno de los grandes retos de la era de la información. Al aproximamos al nuevo milenio, muchos sistemas informáticos están preparados para volverse hacia atrás en el tiempo. Las anomalías resultantes podrían causar graves interrupciones en los diversos sectores de la economía. En nuestra comunicación abordamos los problemas que se plantean, las alternativas que se han planteado para resolverlos, su relación con el Euro, así como su tratamiento contable y el papel del auditor ante dicho panorama.

The world is presentíy facing one of the greatest challenges in the information era. As we approach the new millennium, many computer systems are ready to turn back in time. The resulting anomalies might cause serious disruptions of various economy sectors. In our paper we will deal with the problems created, the way to solve them, and their connection with the euro (ecu) as well as their financial treatment and the part auditors must play in view of the situation.
