El consumo cultural es, cada vez más, audiovisual; los dispositivos electrónicos e Internet contribuyen e impulsan esa tendencia. De hecho han contribuido a que aumente el consumo de series, películas y televisión, en general, en idiomas distintos al del usuario –gracias, en parte, a que la tecnología ha facilitado la creación y difusión de subtítulos como herramienta de transferencia lingüística–. No son pocos los autores que hablan del estado líquido al que nos ha traído Internet donde los límites de los medios se desvanecen (Giddens, 2000; Henry Jenkins, 2006). Fenómeno que ha influido al mismo tiempo en una mayor visualización de la diversidad lingüística: no conocer una lengua ha dejado de ser obstáculo, en cuanto al consumo de contenido audiovisual se refiere. Esta hipótesis se sustenta en las posibilidades que nos ofrece la accesibilidad audiovisual. Creemos que ésta ha de utilizarse también desde una perspectiva lingüística para hacer del contenido audiovisual accesible un lugar de encuentro entre lenguas mayoritarias y lenguas pequeñas. De ahí que nos hagamos la siguiente pregunta: si la accesibilidad permite a personas con discapacidad sensorial disfrutar del contenido audiovisual, ¿por qué no plantear que también las lenguas minoritarias puedan beneficiarse de ella para acceder a más público?. Como parte de la de investigación, hemos llevado a cabo una primera fase experimental donde valiéndonos de tecnología accesible para personas con discapacidades sensoriales se han realizado varias proyecciones bilingües de la película Loreak (rodada en euskera). Este trabajo presenta unas primeras conclusiones de la investigación planteada como una oportunidad de las lenguas minoritarias, para que puedan acceder a nuevos mercados, y que la lengua de producción (la versión original en lengua minoritaria) no sea obstáculo ni excusa para no dar visibilidad a ese contenido. |
