Martha Nussbaum: emociones, mente y cuerpo

Abstract

La teoría congnitivo-evaluadora de las emociones que describe la filósofa Martha Nussbaum sirve para reflexionar sobre las relaciones entre la mente y el cuerpo. Esta teoría se enfrenta a aquellas otras posiciones que a lo largo de la historia del pensamiento han separado alma y cuerpo, mente y cerebro, emociones y razones. El presente trabajo analiza algunas de las dificultades teóricas que presenta dicha teoría y aclara el sentido de su aportación en el campo de la filosofía práctica.

Cognitive-evaluative conception of emotions which describes the philosopher Martha Nussbaum serves to reflect on the relationship between mind and body. This theory is facing those other positions that throughout the history of thought have separated soul and body, mind and brain, emotions and reasons. This paper analyzes some of the theoretical difficulties that presents this theory and clarifies the meaning of his contribution in the field of practical philosophy.
