La docencia de las Ciencias Naturales en la enseñanza secundaria

Abstract

En esta comunicación se tratan aspectos que creo fundamentales en la evolución de la docencia de Ciencias Naturales en España desde su inicio oficial: En diferentes apartados se explica cómo han variado: las asignaturas, en cuanto a sus denominaciones y contenidos, la frecuencia horaria, los libros de texto, los métodos y procedimientos respecto a la docencia de las CCNN en la actualidad y sus perspectivas en relación con los docentes noveles y resto del profesorado. Desde el primer profesor de Historia Natural, el catedrático Manuel María José de Galdo López de Neira, en el Instituto del Noviciado en Madrid hasta los actuales profesores de los departamentos de Biología-Geología en los diferentes IES y Colegios de España, la enseñanza de las Ciencias Naturales ha experimentado importantes cambios, siguiendo las leyes orgánicas que a lo largo de la segunda mitad del s XIX y el s XX se han implantado en el sistema educativo español. La evolución de los libros de texto para la enseñanza de nuestra disciplina ha sido impresionante en cuanto a número, variedad y contenido. Los métodos han seguido diferentes tendencias con buenos y no tan buenos resultados y, los procedimientos utilizados siempre han buscado que el alumnado adquiriera mayor y sobre todo mejor conocimiento de la Naturaleza. La LOGSE (1990) y más tarde la LOE (2006) han supuesto una reforma total del sistema educativo en el cual, la docencia de las Ciencias Naturales en la actualidad y sus perspectivas constituyen una difícil e inestimable labor por parte del profesor.

This communication deals with the aspects that I believe fundamental in the evolution of the teaching of Natural Histor in Spain since their official beginning: In different paragraphs is explained how they have changed: the subjects, as for his names and contents, the hourly frequency, the books of text, the methods and procedures with regard to the teaching of the Natural Sciences at present and his perspectives in relation with the new teachers and the rest of professorship. From the first teacher of Natural History, the professor Manuel Maria José de Galdo López de Neira, in the Institute of the Novitiate in Madrid up to the current teachers of the departments of Biology - Geology in the different IES (Instituto de Enseñanza Secundaria) and other High Schools of Spain, the education of the Natural Sciences has experienced important changes, following the organic laws that along the second half of the XIXth century and the XXth century have been implanted in the educational Spanish system. The evolution of the textbooks for the education in our discipline has been impressive as for number, variety and content. The methods have followed different trends with good and not so good results and, the procedures used always have looked that the students were acquiring major and especially better knowledge of the Nature. Two laws, LOGSE (1990) and later the LOE (2006), have produced a total reform of the educational system in which, the teaching of the Natural Sciences at present and his perspectives constitute a difficult and inestimable labor on the part of the teacher.
