El presente trabajo gira en torno a dos ejes de análisis, por una parte, religión y cultura en la construcción del concepto de género y, por otra, el discurso publicitario. Ambos ejes quedan unidos por el tratamiento que se le da a la imagen de la mujer, que favorece las situaciones de desigualdad de género, relegando su papel a un protagonismo falso y distorsionado en el que siempre se imponen límites marcados y definidos por una sociedad dominada por hombres y perpetuada por mujeres que han aceptado esa realidad. Esta reflexión se centra en los estereotipos, valores y esquemas derivados de creencias religiosas y culturales, relacionadas con la construcción social de género, y, asimismo, trata la consolidación y perpetuidad de dichos estereotipos en los medios de comunicación, mostrando una imagen de la mujer ligada a prejuicios que apenas reflejan la verdadera mujer de hoy en día. Con esta propuesta se pretende dilucidar cómo cultura y género han alimentado la desigualdad entre sexos. Pero también los medios de comunicación, cuyo protagonismo en las sociedades actuales es indiscutible, se han convertido en la mayor parte de las ocasiones en cómplices de esta desigualdad, favoreciendo el sexismo a través de las imágenes y de discursos simbólicos, y en, otra ocasiones, se ha fomentado un machismo subconsciente tras la imagen de una sociedad donde la mujer coparticipa en el mantenimiento de esa imagen distorsionada. |
