Los Laffitte, una familia de industriales ceramistas

Abstract

El apellido Laffitte está tan vinculado a la industria cerámica sevillana como los de Mensaque, García Montalbán o Ramos Rejano, a pesar de ser menos popular, quizá por la escasez o ambigüedad de los datos trascendidos. Es frecuente encontrar el nombre o firma en la documentación conservada sobre la E. I. A. (Exposición Ibero-americana) de Sevilla o en el propio escenario de ésta; así como en comentarios en prensa dedicados a otras exhibiciones a las cuales presentaban piezas. Sin embargo, las publicaciones especializadas ofrecen parcas noticias sobre su actividad. Por ello, se ha pretendido restaurar la memoria de estos industriales y el prestigio del que gozaron en aquellas tempranas décadas del siglo XX.
