El espíritu del lugar: implicaciones urbanas y paisajísticas del patrimonio cultural inmaterial de la humanidad de Andalucía

Abstract

El término “España vaciada” se ha vuelto frecuente en los medios de comunicación, tratándose de un concepto que alude al panorama que están sufriendo el mundo rural y los pequeños municipios ante la influencia de la globalización. Estas localidades se enfrentan de manera frecuente a la despoblación, al envejecimiento de sus habitantes y a la destrucción de su patrimonio cultural ya que, por diversos motivos, carecen de suficientes mecanismos de regulación para su conservación y su puesta en valor. Ante esta situación, estos municipios construyen y ponen en valor su identidad cultural apostando por su patrimonio cultural -material e inmaterial- como un recurso de desarrollo social y económico que permite su supervivencia. Un esfuerzo que en ocasiones se ve recompensado con reconocimientos como la inclusión en la Lista Representativa de Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, siendo ejemplo de ello las tamboradas, la construcción en piedra seca o los patios de Córdoba, entre otros. Para poder entender mejor esta identidad cultural inherente al patrimonio inmaterial se pretende estudiar aquellos elementos que lo vinculan a la ciudad, el paisaje y el territorio desde las disciplinas de la arquitectura y el urbanismo, reconociendo las relaciones entre espacio, materia y rito de forma que se establezcan las medidas adecuadas para proteger, conservar, revitalizar y promover el patrimonio inmaterial desde lo tangible, entendiéndolo desde su relación con el paisaje urbano y territorio.

The term "empty Spain" has become frequent in mass media, an it is a concept that shows the situation that the rural world and small cities are suffering due to globalisation. These cities often face depopulation, ageing of their inhabitants and destruction of their cultural heritage because they do not have enough regulatory mechanisms for its preservation and enhancement. Dealing with this situation, these cities are building and working on their cultural identity by investing in their cultural heritage - both tangible and intangible - as a resource for social and economic development that allows them to survive. This effort is sometimes rewarded with international recognition such as inclusion in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, an example of which are the tamboradas, dry stone construction and the patios of Cordoba, among others. In order to better understand this cultural identity inherent to intangible heritage, we will study those elements that link it to the city, the landscape and the territory from the disciplines of architecture and urban planning, working to recognise the relationships between space, matter and ritual so as to establish the appropriate measures to protect, conserve, revitalise and promote intangible heritage from the tangible, understanding it from its relationship with the urban landscape and territory.
