Doctoral studies, prioritary subject thin the Bologna process, constitute the third level of the qualification framework of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), include the development of an original research work, and should be considered as a part of both the EHEA as the European Research Area. In our country, the fitting process for doctoral studies to the European qualification framework is being complex. The current decree, RD 99/2011, regulates the official teachings for doctoral education and is based on the European forums recommendations about high quality, internationalization, innovation, recognition and mobility. This study analyses the new scenario for this qualification level and discusses their main aspects, such as the program structure, the organization, the new Doctoral Schools, the entry and admission requirements, the monitoring mechanisms, and the thesis dissertation. |
