De la locura del verso: aproximación a la figura y la obra de Remedios Picó Maestre

Abstract

Entre las protagonistas de la lírica valenciana de la pasada centuria, Remedios Picó Maestre (Monóvar, 1885-1969) se considera la poeta más prolífica de la modernidad literaria alicantina. Su verso intimista, de abolengo postromántico y modernista, entraña un discurso lírico propiamente femenino y en perfecta consonancia con el espíritu de la Edad de Plata. El presente artículo pretende ofrecer una aproximación a la figura y la obra de la monovera que permita, por un lado, remontarnos a las claves estilístico-textuales de su poética, relacionada con la emancipación social y política de las mujeres, durante el primer tercio del siglo XX; por otro, revelar la sensibilidad humana y artística de una poeta injustamente denostada, para quien la conjunción de vida y escritura se hace imprescindible para esclarecer la complejidad de su personalidad.

Among the protagonists of the Valencian lyric of the past century, Remedios Picó Maestre (Monóvar, 1885-1969) is considered the most prolifc poet of Alicante literary modernity. Her intimate verse, of post-romantic and modernist ancestry, involves a properly feminine lyrical discourse and it demostrates a perfect harmony with the spirit of the Silver Age. This article aims to offer an approach to Remedios Picó Maestre’s fgure and work that allows, on the one hand, to go back to the stylistic-textual keys of her poetics, related to the social and political emancipation of women, during the frst third of the twentieth century; on the other, to reveal the human and artistic sensibility of an unjustly reviled poet, for whom the conjunction of life and writing is essential to clarify the complexity of her personality.
