The aim of this paper is to analyse the physionomy and evolution of the public spaces belonging to the capita provinciarum of Hispania in the second century AD. This work will examine and compare as a whole the large amount of archaeological documentation available for the areas studied. The latter will help tracing their patterns and standards of monumentalisation during the second century AD. The study of these materials has allowed to establish that these monumental areas suffered a building boom under the rule of Trajan and Hadrian. However, that building impulse disappeared from the second third of the second century onwards, when these cities began to experience a phase of stability and continuity. |
