This project aims to analyze and check how hibridized solar thermal energy with actual photovoltaic technology is feasible to produce electric energy in a peaker plant with a lower energy costs than solar thermal central operating without photovoltaic. We will begin introducing both technologies and explaining their design parameters. Also, we will support on variousscientific studies which validates this project and that will serve as a reference to us for its development. We will continue with a fictional hybrid plant simulation and then, we will analyze its behaviour as well as its capacity factor and its LCOE. With all of that we will demonstrate if hybridization nowadays is a feasible and a very interesting solution to give a second life to all of those solar centrals which want to reduce their LCOE. Many international projects use this kind of technology in order to reduce costs and grow their annual production hours. |
