El virus c de la hepatitis es un virus rna que afecta al menos a un 0.5% de la poblacion y produce en un 60-70% hepatitis cronica evolucionando a cirrosis en un 20%.En el presente estudio hemos evaluado la prevalencia de esta enfermedad y el efeccon interferon del tratamiento. De un total de 163 paciente, la hepatitis c afecta mas a varones con una edad media de 42 años y con una fuente de infeccion esporadica mas prevalente. La edad de los pacientes con lesiones histologicas leves es menor que la de los pacientes con lesiones moderadas o severas. El tratamiento de 57 pacientes con ifn alfa con 5 mu por via subcutanea induce una respuesta completa del 44.8% y una respuesta sostenida del 28.5% con un 21% de avandono por efectos secundarios. En los 28 paciente tratados con ifn beta en dosis de 6 mu durante 3 meses y 3 mu 3 meses mas induce una tasa de respuesta sostenida muy baja (10,7%) y con buena tolerancia. |
