Introducción de mejoras en el diseño y la gestión de cuatro almacenes industriales

Abstract

En este proyecto se van a plantear cuatro casos reales de almacenes industriales en los que se van a identificar sus puntos débiles y susceptibles de mejora. Teniendo en cuenta la teoría y estudios existentes sobre la materia, este proyecto intenta llevarlos a la práctica y conjugarlos con las limitaciones propias del mundo real para conseguir los objetivos deseados. Estos objetivos, teniendo en cuenta que una empresa industrial busca minimizar sus costes para maximizar sus beneficios, están enfocados en el aumento de la capacidad de almacenamiento, mediante el rediseño de la planta y las estanterías; la optimización en la gestión de los inventarios, introduciendo conceptos como el stock de seguridad o el punto de pedido, que evitan o minimizan las roturas de stock y la prevención de riesgos, ya que la seguridad y la salud de los trabajadores debe ser lo más importante para cualquier empresa. La mayoría de estos objetivos se alcanzaron con notable éxito, llegando a aumentar la capacidad de almacenamiento en los dos primeros almacenes, implantar la clasificación ABC en tres de los cuatro almacenes, establecer punto de pedido y stock de seguridad en los dos primeros y establecer un protocolo seguro para las operaciones en los dos últimos.

In this project, four real cases of industrial warehouses will be presented, in which their susceptible of improvement weak points will be identified. Considering the theory and existing studies on the subject, this project tries to put them into practice and combine them with the limitations of the real world to achieve the desired objectives. These objectives, taking into account that an industrial company seeks to minimize its costs in order to maximize its profits, are focused on increasing storage capacity, through the redesign of the plant and shelves; optimizing inventory management, introducing concepts such as safety stock or point of order, which avoid or minimize stock breaks and risk prevention, since the safety and health of workers should be the most important thing for any company. Most of these objectives were achieved with remarkable success, reaching to increase storage capacity in the first two warehouses, implement the ABC classification in three of the four warehouses, establish point of order and safety stock in the first two and establish a safe protocol for operations in the last two.
