tres grandes grupos se configuran: a) las heroínas presas de la feminidad, b) las que intentan una redefinición ... • La tesis analiza la presencia de la mujer en la literatura americana a traves de unas cincuenta novelas. tres grandes grupos se configuran: a) las heroínas presas de la feminidad, b) las que intentan una redefinición de la feminidad, c) las que rechazan la feminidad por creerla incompatible con la mismidad. siendo un rol una imagen, un valor impuesto a la mujer por los sistemas de representación masculinos, las heroínas atrapadas en la feminidad carecen de mismidad. No tienen finalidad propia sino que, atrapadas en los límites de su propio cuerpo, son origen y telos del deseo. Porque la feminidad es un proceso por el que las mujeres internalizan una imagen masculina de su sexualidad como su identidad de mujer, a mediados de este siglo las heroínas que rechazan la feminidad: Quieren tener actividad, independencia, centralidad y mismidad. sin embargo, como operan desde dentro de la lógica de un discurso masculino que mantiene lo femenino en los límites de la censura y la opresión, estas heroínas se desligan del rol femenino pero no consiguen escapar de la imagen de la feminidad. Las heroínas que buscan mismidad se ven obligadas a abandonar el mundo que el hombre ha creado para escapar a su discurso. buscan refugio en la naturaleza, en un fabuloso mundo verde donde esperan crear un mundo en el que todos los seres sean andróginos. Pero ese mundo no llega a cristalizar en ninguna novela, principalmente porque el hombre no reconoce la mismidad de la heroína. Por otra parte, con la huida de la heroína el mundo patriarcal, que se erige sobre la imagen de la feminidad se resquebraja. El héroe ya no tiene meta ni destino. Sin la heroína, el héroe se transforma en antihéroe. |
