160 kurze übungen opus 821 de Carl Czerny: análisis idiomático y aplicaciones pedagógicas

Abstract

Carl Czerny se erige como uno de los pedagogos del piano más influyentes de la primera mitad del siglo XIX. Músico culto, su vida permaneció fuertemente arraigada al entorno cultural vienes y su nombre aparece en la historia del piano claramente unido a la pedagogía. Entre sus alumnos destacan pianistas tan afamados como: Leschetizky, Kullak y el gran pianista Liszt. Su extensa obra para piano recoge incontables cuadernos de ejercicios, estudios, sonatas, fantasías, fugas, conciertos, piezas a cuatro manos, un excelente libro titulado Die Kunst des Vortrags (El Arte de la Interpretación), donde expone cómo interpretar a autores contemporáneos suyos (de Mozart a Liszt), música religiosa, música de cámara, obras para orquesta y una reducción para piano a cuatro manos de las sinfonías de Beethoven (Vallribera,1983, p.51). Pero destacan claramente los cuadernos de ejercicios y estudios que abarcan prácticamente la globalidad de las dificultades de la técnica moderna del piano. Dado el escaso número de estudios de referencia que giran en torno a la figura de Carl Czerny -y en particular sobre su opus 821-, el documento de tesis que aquí se expone desarrolla una investigación inédita que pretende poner de manifiesto con criterios objetivos la importancia de este compositor y pedagogo en la formación inicial de los discentes. Para ello, este trabajo aborda tres principales contenidos: la evolución del piano desde su aparición hasta su espectacular perfeccionamiento durante los siglos XIX y XX; las principales dificultades técnicas que a lo largo de la historia aparecerán en el repertorio pianístico; y, finalmente, el análisis de los ciento sesenta estudios breves de su opus. 821, desde una perspectiva estrictamente técnica.

Carl Czerny stands as one of the most influential piano pedagogues of the first half of the 19th century. A cultured musician, his life remained deeply rooted in the cultural environment of the Viennese and his name appears in the history of the piano clearly linked to pedagogy. Among his pupils are famous pianists such as: Leschetizky, Kullak and the great pianist Liszt. His extensive work for piano includes countless exercise books, studies, sonatas, fantasies, escapes, concerts, four-hand pieces, an excellent book titled Die Kunst des Vortrags (The Art of Interpretation), where he exposes how to interpret contemporary authors of his (From Mozart to Liszt), religious music, chamber music, orchestral works and a four-handed piano reduction of Beethoven's symphonies (Vallribera, 1983, p. 51). But note clearly the exercise books and studies that cover practically the globality of the difficulties of the modern technique of the piano. Given the small number of reference studies that revolve around the figure of Carl Czerny - and in particular about his opus 821-, the thesis document presented here develops an unpublished research that seeks to show objective criteria the importance Of this composer and pedagogue in the initial formation of the students. To this end, this work deals with three main contents: the evolution of the piano from its appearance to its spectacular perfection during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; The main technical difficulties that throughout the history will appear in the pianístico repertoire; And finally, the analysis of the hundred and sixty short studies of his opus. 821 from a strictly technical perspective.
