Educational evaluation of specific learning disabilities (LD) is, at present, a prerequisite in identifying these disorders. From the beginning of the first studies from neuroscience, through the role of psychometrics, educational assessment today occupies an important interdisciplinary field in identifying learning disabilities plot. In this study the evolution and development in the detection of the LD finally focusing on the important role currently played by the educational evaluation in this area is reviewed. The specific model of educational evaluation of learning disorders, based on the interweaving of educational assessment and intervention, preventive methodology, and based notarized statement proven to center the identification of LD is presented in educational response to intervention (RtI) of students at risk. Finally educational progress of this specific assessment as well as current and prospective challenges posed research.
