The application of the multimedia technology in the University is, in the actual historic context, a problem research for to bring up again in the analysis and evaluation of new technologies, practical and theoretically. The absence of the communicational perspective and the empire of the technological rationality in the introduction of the computers as part of the process to teach and learn have displaced the point of the view about sociopedagogical reflection and the discourses, ideologies and epistemologies of the information, for a politics of the technological modernization established in functional objectives and an alienated reflexivity about meaning and application of the new systems of production and knowledge. In this communication, we presents, briefly, some contradictions, limits and posibilities from application of the multimedia systems in the University, thus as the most important theoretical aspects at to trade for an proper development of this problem research.
