Abstract

A finales de los años veinte del pasado siglo comenzaba a abordarse una reflexión completa y pausada del territorio desde la altura. Superada la fascinación por el avión como objeto y recompuestas las emociones tras los primeros contactos con el aire, comienza la exploración, surgen las miradas serenas sobre la tierra que ha quedado abajo. En octubre de 1929 Le Corbusier tendrá la oportunidad de explorar el fabuloso territorio americano desde la altura, durante la plácida primavera austral, en un paseo por los cielos que le permitirá percibir nítidamente la relación entre lugar y arquitectura. Desde entonces, acompañado en todo momento de su libreta de dibujo, recorrería miles de millas a través del aire: Sudamérica y M’zab, los meandros y el desierto, constituyen, pese a no ser sus primeros vuelos, el conjunto de experiencias definitivamente trascendentes en la reformulación de las coordenadas espaciales y geográficas de un arquitecto apasionado por la aviación.
