El protagonista de la serie The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon Cooper, es un personaje al que los productores han atribuido numerosas características y patrones de comportamiento que constantemente se alejan de lo común. Su caracterización es tan particular que ha generado debates entre sus seguidores sobre la posible relación existente entre su personalidad y la de las personas con síndrome de Asperger. El síndrome de Asperger, enmarcado dentro de los trastornos del espectro autismo (TEA), es un gran desconocido para la población e incluso para los profesionales. Hoy en día se siguen buscando las causas y proporcionando la mayor información posible con el fin de conocer a fondo sus singularidades y conseguir el mayor bienestar de las personas que lo padecen. En el presente trabajo se estudiarán los aspectos más importantes de la serie The Big Bang Theory, las características que definen a su protagonista, Sheldon Cooper, y el desarrollo del síndrome de Asperger y los rasgos que se pueden manifestar en las personas que lo padecen. Más tarde, se analizarán capítulos de la serie y se contará con el punto de vista de profesionales con el fin de afirmar o rechazar la presencia del síndrome de Asperger en la personalidad de Sheldon Cooper. The protagonist of the series The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon Cooper, is a character to which the producers have attributed many characteristics and patterns of behavior that constantly move away from the ordinary. His characterization is so particular that he has generated debates among his followers about the possible relationship between his personality and people with Asperger's syndrome ones. Asperger’s syndrome, framed within the autism spectrum disorders (ASD), is a great unknown to the population and even to professionals. Nowadays, the research for causes and more useful information continues in order to know in depth their singularities and achieve the greatest welfare of the people who suffer from it. In this work we will study the most important aspects of the series The Big Bang Theory, the characteristics that define its protagonist, Sheldon Cooper, the development of Asperger syndrome and the character traits that this type of people suffer from. Then, chapters of the series will be analyzed and professionals will tell us their point of view in order to affirm or reject the presence of Asperger's syndrome in Sheldon Cooper personality. |
