Identidad colectiva y cultura digital en México: Del EZLN al movimiento Yosoy132

Abstract

El Neozapatismo y el movimiento #yosoy132 han destacado en México por el uso de las nuevas tecnologías digitales. Sin embargo, ambos movimientos presentan grandes diferencias en cuanto a su forma de apropiación de las TIC y sus identidades colectivas. Mientras que el EZLN se enmarca como precedente del movimiento altermundista en los llamados Recents Social Movements o Nuevos Movimientos Globales y hace un uso hacktivista de las TIC, el 132 presenta una identidad más transversal y ciudadanista alejada de la identidad izquierdista y militante y hace un uso subversivo de las redes comerciales, con un menor nivel de apropiación tecnológica.

Neozapatismo and the #yosoy132 movement have stood out in Mexico for the use of new digital technologies. However, both movements show great differences in terms of their appropriation of ICT and their collective identities. While the EZLN is framed as a precedent of the alter-globalist movement in the so-called Recents Social Movements or New Global Movements and makes a hacktivist use of ICT, the 132 presents a more transversal and citizenist identity away from the leftist and militant identity and makes subversive use of commercial networks, with a lower level of technological appropriation.
