Socialización y autoconcepto en una muestra de alumnos inmigrantes marroquíes

Abstract

La nueva realidad educativa de nuestros centros precisa tomar conciencia de la presencia de distintas culturas y requiere cuidar de forma especial la dimensión socioafectiva de los alumnos pertenecientes a grupos minoritarios. El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar y analizar a fondo las necesidades educativas que presentan y demandan los alumnos inmigrantes magrebíes de nuestra comunidad con el objeto de mejorar la atención a la diversidad en los centros educativos. Según el Informe del Defensor del Pueblo (2003), los resultados académicos de los alumnos inmigrantes magrebíes son inferiores a los del autóctono, por eso nos hemos centrado en el análisis de dos factores claves, el autoconcepto y la sociabilidad. Hemos encontrado diferencias significativas en las variables Autoconcepto social, Consideración hacia los demás, Retraimiento social y Ansiedad social / timidez. Nuestros datos evidencian en los alumnos inmigrantes unas interacciones sociales escasas y un nivel de integración menor. Los alumnos inmigrantes se perciben con dificultades para conseguir y mantener amigos, se sienten aislados y tímidos lo que explica una menor sensibilidad social y preocupación por los demás.

The new educative reality of our centers needs to become aware from the presence different cultures and requires to take care of special form the social-affective dimension of the students pertaining to minority groups. The objective of this work is to study and to analyze thorough the educative necessities that they present and they demand the students magrebíes immigrants of our community with the intention of improving the attention to the diversity in the educative centers. According to the Report of the Defender of the Town (2003), the academic results of the students magrebíes immigrants are inferior to those of the native one, for that reason we have been centered in the analysis of two key factors, self-concept and the sociability. We have found significant differences in the variables “Social self-concept”, “Consideration towards the others”, “Social retirement” and “Social anxiety/timidity”. Our data demonstrate in the students immigrants little social interactions and a level of smaller integration. The students immigrants perceive themselves with difficulties to obtain and to maintain friends, they feel isolated and timid what explains a smaller social sensitivity and preoccupation by the others.
