The following Project has consisted of the development of a solar tracker which the main point is to be used as a tool for future experiments and investigation proyects. So, the purpose of the automatization is to have an active platform that can be used and allow anyone to develop new algorithms and ways for solar tracking. The projects has focused on all the technical documentation, specifically on the following aspects: 1. Compilation of the characteristics and technical documents from the different components of the system. 2. Description of the actuators and sensors. 3. Performance test of the solar tracking. 4. Programming of the function blocks for developing the solar tracking. 5. General blueprint and wiring of the installation. 6. Operating specifications and states of the platform. 7. Security report of the plant. As the main automation equipment, an MC80 PLC from Schneider electric has been used, this PLC has application-oriented design features with solar trackers, available use of Canopen field buses, Modbus, Ethernet ports that allow a flexibility of communication with different high-performance devices such as absolute encoders, inclinometer, solar orientation sensors, etc., which must be integrated into the application. |
