The purpose of this project is to analyze the possible replacement of old wind turbines in a specific park in Spain with more modern ones. To do this, after a brief introduction to the general nature of wind energy, it will start with a data flow simulation program called OPENWIND, software that allows to design, optimize and evaluate a wind farm. First, information is sought on the area to be re-powered, then the old park and the new one will be simulated for later comparison. The simulation of modern turbines is done with several types that are compared and selected for their subsequent design of the electrical infrastructure. Once this design is completed, it is compared with the investment of these new wind turbines results or no better than keep the park with a single economic analysis based on the VAN. |
