Hoy en día, el consumo de toda clase de sustancias para mejorar y aumentar el rendimiento deportivo y la forma física tanto a nivel competitivo y no competitivo se ha ido extendiendo a toda la población que realiza actividad física. El objetivo del presente estudio es evaluar el consumo de suplementos nutricionales (SN) en los estudiantes del Grado de Ciencias de la Actividad Física y del deporte de la Universidad de Sevilla, del curso académico 2017-2018. La muestra estuvo representada por 101 estudiantes, hombres (n=77, 76,5%) y mujeres (n=24, 23,5%) con un rango de edad estimado entre los 18 y 24 años. Los usuarios realizaron un cuestionario previamente diseñado y con un pilotaje donde se evaluó la validez del contenido. Del total de la muestra, el 38,2% han consumido en alguna ocasión algún suplemento. Entre estos el 59%, lo hacía buscando mejorar su aspecto físico, el 56,4%, buscaban aumentar su rendimiento deportivo y para paliar algún déficit de la dieta un 35,9%. El perfil del consumidor es el de un usuario/a joven universitario/a, que realiza actividad tanto en centros fitness como en casa, y que realiza algún tipo de dieta. El porcentaje de SN consumidos en este estudio por los universitarios fueron; Proteína de Suero (Whey Protein) 66,7%, Bebidas Isotónicas un 61,5%, Barritas Energéticas un 53,8%, Creatina un 41% y Aminoácidos Ramificados (BCCA) un 35.9%. Nowadays, the consumption of all kinds of substances to improve and increase sports performance and physical fitness both at a competitive and non-competitive level has been extended to the entire population that performs physical activity. The objective of the present study is to evaluate the consumption of nutritional supplements (SN) in the students of the Degree of Science of Physical Activity and Sports of the University of Seville, of the academic year 2017-2018. The sample was represented by 101 students, men (n = 77, 76.5%) and women (n = 24, 23.5%) with an estimated age range between 18 and 24 years. The users carried out a questionnaire previously designed and with a pilot where the validity of the content was evaluated. Of the total sample, 38.2% have used a supplement at some time. Among these 59%, did it looking to improve their physical appearance, 56.4%, sought to increase their athletic performance and to alleviate some deficit of the diet by 35.9%. The profile of the consumer is that of a young university student, who performs activity both in fitness centers and at home, and who performs some type of diet. The percentage of SN consumed in this study by the university students were; Whey Protein (Whey Protein) 66.7%, Isotonic Beverages 61.5%, Energy Bars 53.8%, Creatine 41% and Branched Amino Acids (BCCA) 35.9%. |
