Literature on the subject shows that it is a multidimensional concept. However, there is considerable confusion surrounding the term over which few are able to agree, since there is a lack of empirical studies. This study aims to review the available literature in order to propose a model for a positive culture of prevention and subsequently to contrast this with a sample of 455 Spanish companies, using structural equations as a statistical technique. Results show the important role of company management in the promotion of the safe behaviour of employees both directly, through their attitudes and behaviour, and indirectly, by developing an occupational health and safety management system. |
