"Tell your god to change you, tell your god to like me": homoerotismo y erotismo queer en los relatos cortos "Grace" (Chinelo Okparanta), "God's children are little broken things" (Arinze Ifeakandu) y "My full form" (Chukkie J. Domadi)

Abstract

Ser hombre o mujer homosexual no es tarea fácil ni permitida en África. Actualmente, las relaciones homosexuales y entre personas transgénero están prohibidas en una sociedad hetero-sexista que defiende la heteronorma y desprecia aquellas manifestaciones o identidades queer que transgreden las nociones normativizadas de género y orientación sexual. Artistas pertenecientes a nuevas generaciones de africanos recuperan y comienzan a reflejar estas realidades en distintas manifestaciones de la literatura, cine o fotografía. Este texto pretende reflejar el estado de esta cuestión a través de los relatos cortos escritos por los autores nigerianos Chinelo Okparanta con su relato "Grace" (2013), Arinze Ifeakandu con su relato "God's Children Are Little Broken Things" (2013) y Chukkie J. Domadi con su relato "My Full Form" (2016). Estas obras tratan de visibilizar la diversidad de opciones identitarias y sexuales, empoderar y brindar un espacio lícito a aquellas personas repudiadas por su orientación sexual

Being homosexual in Africa is not an easy or allowed thing. Currently, same-sex and between transgender individuals relationships are not legal in a heterosexist society that defends the heteronorm and despises those queer identities and manifestations that transgress normative notions of love, gender and sexual orientation. A number of artists belonging to new generations of Africans have (re)started to mirror and dissect these realities in different fields such as literature, cinema or photography. This paper aims to tackle this question through the short stories written by the Nigerian authors: Chinelo Okparanta and her short story "Grace" (2013), Arinze Ifeakandu with his short story "God's Children Are Little Broken Things" (2013) and Chukkie J. Domadi with his/her "My Full Form". These narratives try to make the diversity of identitary and sexual options visible, to empower and provide a licit space for those individuals rejected by their sexual orientation.
