La exhibición propia y la humillación del enemigo, ... Los sentidos fueron la puerta de entrada de los mensajes de la fe en las fiestas religiosas andaluzas del Barroco. La unión y el sacrificio cuando azotaba la calamidad. La exhibición propia y la humillación del enemigo, si había que dar prueba de la militancia católica. En ambos casos, la razón quedaba doblegada por la fuerza y rapidez de la emoción a la que servían la técnica y los recursos del espectáculo moderno. El estilo corporativo de las fiestas medievales se hizo público y político. Y hasta el cielo fue colonizado por esta nueva mentalidad pragmática y mercantilista que lo imaginó como una fabulosa corte dispensadora de beneficios espirituales. |
