El urbanismo se ha configurado sin duda como un campo eminentemente práctico y transdisciplinar, su vocación última y preferente ha sido la intervención, se planifica para intervenir, para transformar el territorio. Sin embargo, las incertidumbres que planean hoy día sobre todo el orbe en orden a su sostenibilidad futura se han hecho especialmente sensibles en el medio urbano y en el crecimiento de las urbes. Por ello las críticas, o las cautelas, ante las propuestas que supongan nueva urbanización de suelos, también se han acentuado sobremanera. Repensar el urbanismo desde nuevas claves que pongan el acento en la recualificación de lo existente, no desvirtúa en absoluto la componente propositiva y de transformación que caracteriza al plan, pero sin duda abre vías nuevas y esperanzadoras para revertir ciertas praxis de marcado carácter depredador. Reflexionar, profundizar y debatir de forma participada y abierta, sobre cómo deben ser las nuevas herramientas y técnicas urbanísticas que articulen estos nuevos procesos, deviene en una labor previa y esencial a su posterior articulación reguladora y desarrollo práctico. |
