Artículo 7. Revalorización de las pensiones

Abstract

El Convenio Iberoamericano de Seguridad Social guarda una estrecha relación con los derechos de igualdad y libre circulación de los trabajadores. Es un claro ejemplo de la firme voluntad de los gobiernos firmantes de coordinarse, modernizarse, clarificarse en esta materia, en definitiva, de no entorpecer el verdadero reconocimiento de estos derechos. El Convenio no alcanza a todas las prestaciones sino que únicamente comprende las siguientes: invalidez, vejez, supervivencia y accidente de trabajo y enfermedad profesional. Centrándonos en el objeto de estudio, la revalorización de las pensiones, esto es, que las prestaciones económicas que un sujeto percibe no pierdan poder adquisitivo con el paso del tiempo, es lo que reconoce el artículo 7 del Convenio Multilateral Iberoamericano de Seguridad Social. De este modo, permite que se actualicen las prestaciones reconocidas aplicando la regla de proporcionalidad recogida en el apartado 1b) del artículo 13

The Ibero-American Multilateral Convention on Social Security is closely linked with the equality right and free movement of Workers. It is a clear example of the strong will of the signatory governments to coordinate, modernize, and clarify in this matter, and, ultimately, an example of the desire of not hindering the true recognition of this right with the consequences this entails. The Convention does not cover all the benefits, but comprises the following: disability, retirement, survival and accident and occupational disease. The valorization of pensions, that is, the fact that the economic benefits perceived by an individual do not lose purchasing power over time, is recognized in Article 7 of the Ibero-American Multilateral Convention on Social Security. This will allow benefits to be updated, taking into account the proportionality rule laid down in paragraph 1b) of Article 13
