Programa de Seminarios sobre inmigración y medios de comunicación. Una experiencia compartida de educación mediática.

Abstract

Trabajar y formar para la eliminación de la desigualdad social es el objetivo rector de la Dirección General de Acción Social y Solidaria, de la Universidad de Cádiz. Como vía prioritaria para su consecución, consideramos imprescindible la Alfabetización y Educación Mediática, tanto en nuestro entorno como a través de la cooperación con instituciones, movimientos sociales y comunidades de otros países. Acción Solidaria viene acometiendo diversas iniciativas y líneas de actuación con el fin de motivar y potenciar el desarrollo de la competencia comunicativa, para el estudio y análisis crítico del discurso mediático en torno a los problemas sociales. Una de las experiencias más importantes en éste ámbito es la llevada a cabo desde el Área de Migraciones, Interculturalidad y Cooperación al Desarrollo acerca de la relación entre los medios de comunicación y la migración. En el año 2007, se inició un proceso sistemático de enseñanza-aprendizaje a través de seminarios anuales, que obedecen a un diseño científico multinivel capaz de estructurar los contenidos en una espiral de profundización y ampliación de significados, manteniendo como referentes los principios esenciales establecidos en la agenda estratégica de la educación de la UNESCO: “Aprender a Aprender, Aprender a Convivir, Aprender a Ser, Aprender a hacer y Aprender a transformarse a sí mismo y a la sociedad”. De acuerdo a este propósito, el trabajo de preparación y diseño de cada actividad formativa parte de la perspectiva histórico-cultural compleja enfocada sobre las necesidades de los estudiantes. Y para su traslación eficiente a la práctica educativa del Seminario, aplica en su ejecución metodológica el modelo de “Experiencia de Aprendizaje Mediado” (EAM). Los excelentes resultados obtenidos confirman la potencia del modelo teórico y su aplicación a través del cumplimiento de los requisitos de la EAM. La comunicación que presentamos explica como se lleva a cabo este proceso, en el caso concreto del estudio del complejo sistema de interconexiones escondido detrás de la construcción del discurso mediático acerca de la migración y la interculturalidad

Work and training for the elimination of the social inequality is the guiding objective of the Directorate General of Social Action and Solidarity of the University of Cadiz. As a priority for their achievement, it is imperative Literacy and Education Media, both in our environment such as through cooperation with institutions, social movements and communities in other countries. Solidarity Action comes undertaking various initiatives and lines of action in order to motivate and enhance the development of the communicative competence, for the study and critical analysis of the speech media around the social problems. One of the most important lessons learned in this area is carried out from the area of Migration, Interculturality and Development Cooperation on the relationship between the media and migration. In the year 2007, began a systematic process of teaching-learning through annual seminars, due to a scientific design multilevel able to structure the contents in a spiral of deepening and broadening of meanings, maintaining as concerning the three essential principles laid down in the strategic agenda of the education of UNESCO: “learning to know, learning to be, learning to live together, learning to do and learning to transform oneself and society”. According to this purpose, the work of preparation and design of each activity formative part of the perspective historical and cultural complex focused on the needs of students. And for its shifting efficiently to the educational practice of the Seminar, applies in its implementation methodological the model of Learning Experience Mediated (LEM). The excellent results confirm the power of the theoretical model and its implementation through the fulfilment of the requirements of the LEM. The communication that we present explains how this process is carried out, in the case of the study of the complex system of interconnections hidden behind the construction of the discourse about the migration and interculturality.
