Desarrollo de la literacidad crítica en Internet en estudiantes mexicanos de Bachillerato

Abstract

La modificación de las prácticas lectoras en el siglo XXI, debido a una mayor diversidad de textos, formatos y lenguajes nuevos, en contextos distintos, plantea la necesidad de desarrollar la literacidad crítica como parte de una competencia comunicativa más integral. Debido al sentido amplio que implica la literacidad crítica, el presente estudio se centra en el proceso de la búsqueda y análisis de información en Internet y de los documentos seleccionados en torno al tema “violencia en la adolescencia”, en un grupo de estudiantes de bachillerato. La investigación, de índole cualitativa, consistió en un estudio de caso instrumental donde se analizaron las estrategias de planeación y búsqueda de información; los criterios que emplean para revisar el rigor, credibilidad y fiabilidad de las páginas web que consultan, así como la calidad de los textos elegidos; y finalmente su interpretación sobre el tema. Los resultados indican que los alumnos muestran una competencia gramatical y semántica, pues decodifican el sistema escrito y construyen significados; sin embargo, no manifiestan la competencia pragmática ni la crítica, ya que no asumen el rol de usuario comunicativo del texto ni de crítico o analista del mismo. Es así que, aunque no desarrollan una literacidad crítica de manera integral, sí logran un avance en la recuperación de información de textos en internet, donde el apoyo del docente es esencial para guiar y dirigir dicha búsqueda.

The modification of the reading practices in the 21st century, due to a greater diversity of texts, new formats and languages, in different contexts, raises the necessity to develop to the critical literacy like part of a communicative competition more integral. Due to the ample sense than it implies the critical literacy, the present study concentrates in the process of the search and information analysis in Internet and of documents selected about “violence in the adolescence”, in a group of high school students. The investigation, of qualitative nature, consisted of a study of instrumental case where the strategies of planning and search of information were analyzed; the criteria that they use to review the rigor, credibility and reliability of the pages Web that consult, as well as the quality of selected documents; and finally its interpretation on the subject. The results indicate that the students show a grammar and semantic competition, because to decode the written system and they construct meaning; nevertheless, they do not indicate the pragmatic and critic competition, since they do not assume the roll of communicative user of the text nor of critic or analyst of the same. It is so, although they do not develop a critical literacy of integral way, they obtain an advance in the information recovery of texts in Internet, where the support of the teacher is essential to guide and to direct this search.
