La población del mundo continúa en crecimiento exponencial, este crecimiento supone una enorme carga en el agua disponible y los recursos energéticos. A menudo el agua disponible no es suficiente y tiene que ser obtenida mediante recursos como la desalación de agua de mar. En este trabajo se estudiará la viabilidad de la obtención de agua a partir de agua de mar mediante el uso de ósmosis directa, una nueva tecnología que está intentando tener su hueco en el mercado actual. Inicialmente los desarrolladores del primer prototipo prometían un consumo de energía mucho menor que el de la ósmos inversa. Este trabajo analiza las perpectivas realistas de la desalación mediante ósmos directa utilizando la metodología del análisis etermoeconómico. Finalmente, concluiremos con los resultados obtenidos y veremos si es económicamente viable en el mercado de hoy. |
