Para muchos enfermos, el trasplante de órganos es una alternativa terapéutica que les permitirá sobrevivir y recuperar un funcionamiento personal cercano a la normalidad. No obstante, no se trata de un procedimiento médico que ofrezca un resultado exento de dificultades. Así, y tal como nuestro grupo de investigación ha abordado en diversos estudios (p.e. Pérez y Martín, 2002; Pérez, Martín, Díaz y Pérez, 2006; Pérez, Martín y Galán, 2005, 2007; Pérez, Martín, Gallego y Santamaría, 2000; Pérez, Martín y Pérez, 2008), en muchos trasplantados encontraremos complicaciones psicológicas como ansiedad, depresión, disfunciones sexuales, fantasías sobre el donante e insatisfacción con la imagen corporal. |
