La Ciudadanía inestable

Abstract

¿Quién es ciudadano y en qué consiste ser ciudadano en los sistemas democrático-liberales actuales? A partir de un somero repaso histórico a la gestación en el pensamiento moderno de la noción de ciudadanía se mostrará que se trata de un concepto con significado plural y complejo e incluso internamente contradictorio. A partir de aquí se argumentará la hipótesis de que cualquier reflexión política ha de operar con una ontología social inestable, lo cual conlleva la necesidad de pensar la noción de ciudadano a través de una categoría también inestable y plural de identidad. Por último, se expondrá cómo esta perspectiva dinámica y antiesencialista de análisis (descriptivo y normativo) afecta a la propia noción de política.

Who is a citizen and of what does it consist to be a citizen in the democratic-liberal current systems? From a brief historical revision to the gestation in the modern thought of the notion of citizenship it will appear that it is a question of a concept with plural and complex and even internally contradictory meaning. From here there will be argued the hypothesis of which any political reflection has to operate with a social unstable ontology, which bears the need to think the citizen´s notion across a category also unstable and plural of identity. Finally, there will be exposed how this dynamical and antiessentialistic perspective of analysis (descriptive and normative) it concerns the very notion of politics.
