El individuo singular: el cine de Lars von Trier a la luz de Kierkegaard

Abstract

Este trabajo trata de ubicar el cine de Lars von Trier dentro de la línea de pensamiento abierta por Kierkegaard. Argumento que el cine de Trier debe comprenderse como un “cine de mostraje” en oposición al “cine de montaje”, y que los procedimientos cinematográficos que Trier emplea son análogos a los procedimientos estilísticos kierkegaardianos en la medida en que para ambos se trata de transmitir una verdad existencial.

The aim of this paper is to show Lars von Trier’s films on the perspective of the kierkegaardian thought. I argue: 1} that Trier’s films must be understood as a mostrage cinema instead of a montage cinema, and 2} that the way he shot is comparable to Kierkegaard’s way of writing because both try to convey an existential truth.
