Ánforas de los siglos VI-IV a.C. en Turdetania

Abstract

Los hallazgos del Cerro Macareno fueron la base de una primera clasificación de las ánforas prerromanas del Bajo Guadalquivir. Treinta años después, el volumen de las colecciones ha aumentado de forma considerable, pero el estudio de las producciones anfóricas presenta los mismos problemas que entonces. La fragmentación de los materiales y la falta de más y mejores bases cronológicas, siguen siendo los mayores inconvenientes para establecer la tipología y la secuencia evolutiva de los envases comerciales que circularon en la región durante los siglos que interesan a este estudio, pero se acusa también la carencia de una base de datos analíticos que permitan la caracterización de las pastas cerámicas con mayor precisión que los exámenes visuales o los métodos de análisis convencionales. No obstante, intentamos ofrecer una visión de conjunto de las clasificaciones propuestas por distintos autores y de las ánforas más representativas del comercio regional, distinguiendo dos ámbitos productivos de base y proyección diferente, uno interior y otro costero.

The finds from Cerro Macareno served as the basis for a first classification of the Preroman amphorae of the Lower Guadalquivir. Thirty years on, the volume of the assemblages has grown considerably, but the study of these products still presents the same problems. The fragmentation of the material and the absence of more and better chronological data are still the greatest obstacles in establishing the typology and evolutive sequence of the commercial vessels that circulated throughout the region during the time span studied here, but there is also a lack of an analytical database that could enable the characterisation of the fabrics with greater precision than their visual examination or study by means of conventional methods of analysis. However, we attempt to offer a global vision of the classifications put forward by different authors and of the amphorae most representative of the regional trade, distinguishing between two spheres of production of different nature and projection, one interior and the other coastal.
