La alteridad en Eliot y Valente : en torno a "Little Gidding" y El fulgor

Abstract

Establecemos una comparación, a partir de un análisis temático, entre el fragmento final de “Little Gidding” y El fulgor. Tomando en consideración las diversas fuentes comunes (especialmente la mística de San Juan de la Cruz) consideramos la aparición del Otro en la obra de Eliot y Valente junto a una subjetividad que lleva en sí la posibilidad de la relación con la trascendencia, evitando la perpetua recaída en el Mismo. Se descubre en ambos poetas un yo que es vulnerabilidad, posibilidad de sufrir por otro (ser-para el otro), al mismo tiempo que se manifiesta una teología del Verbo, según la cual la Palabra se encarna en los poemas y el poeta sale de sí sin retorno sumergiéndose en el interior de este Verbo que se le revela.

We set a comparison, from the tematic analysis, between the last fragment of “Little Gidding” and El fulgor. Taking into account the common sources (especially the mysticism of St. John of the Cross) we analyse the appearance of the other in the works of Eliot and Valente, beside a subjectivity that carries in itself the possibility of relationship with the transcendence, avoiding the perpetual fall into the same. In both poets it is discovered an “ego” that means vulnerability, possibility of suffering for other (to be for other), at the same time that it is shown a theology of the Word by which the Word is incarnated in the poems and the poet goes out of himself without coming back, submerging himself in the inner part of this Word that is revealed to him.

Cet travail établit une comparaison entre le dernier passage de “Little GGidding” et El fulgor à partir d’une analyse du sujet. En vue des sources communes (en particulier le mysticisme de San Juan de la Cruz) nous analysons comment le thème de “l’autre” se montre dans l’oeuvre d’Eliot et de Valente à côté d’une subjectivité qui en soi-même rend possible un rapport avec la trascendence en évitant ainsi la chute éternelle dans le Même. On découvre chez les deux poètes un “moi” qui est vulnérable, qui a la possibilité de subir à cause d’un autre (être pour l’autre) et au même temps on découvre la théologie du Mot qui s’incarne dans les poèmes.
