Abstract | Este trabajo gira en torno al estudio, transcripción y codificación de un corpus de gacetas editadas por Juan de Cabrera, un impresor sevillano cuya vida y obra se enmarca en torno al siglo XVII, durante la Edad Moderna. ... Este trabajo gira en torno al estudio, transcripción y codificación de un corpus de gacetas editadas por Juan de Cabrera, un impresor sevillano cuya vida y obra se enmarca en torno al siglo XVII, durante la Edad Moderna. En esta época convulsa, marcada por las guerras, despiertan los orígenes del periodismo, a través de la aparición de los primeros avisos, relaciones, y gacetas. Nuestro trabajo se inscribe dentro de los estudios de la Historia del Periodismo y las Humanidades Digitales, relativamente recientes aplicadas a la transcripción textual y al etiquetado de documentos de prensa digital. Nuestro trabajo pretende aportar a través de la transcripción y codificación de gacetas un análisis de esos primeros documentos periodísticos conservados, pertenecientes a la Edad Moderna. La investigación evidencia que durante esa época ya constaba en España y más concretamente en Sevilla la existencia de un periodismo “independiente”, demostrado por el hallazgo de un amplio número de gacetas anteriores a la aparición de la gaceta oficial del Estado en 1661. A su vez este trabajo ha contribuido a reunir un mayor número de documentos de prensa, en este caso muestras de gaceterismo “independiente”, que pasarán a formar parte del Catálogo y Biblioteca Digital de Relaciones de Sucesos (siglo XVI-XVIII). Este estudio reportará beneficios al desarrollo y afianzamiento de las bibliotecas digitales, que se irán ampliando y también a los expertos, estudiosos, investigadores o interesados en la prensa, quienes podrá disfrutar de un acceso más rápido y sencillo a una enorme amalgama de documentos de prensa antigua digitalizados. |
