El dominio del comportamiento como base del significado en psicología

Abstract

Como instrumento metodológico se propone un esquema de análisis que, reconociendo el papel pionero del conductismo radical, pretende ser generalizable a cualquier forma no mentalista de concebir el objeto de estudio psicológico. Se argumenta que cada instancia comportamental sólo puede ser entendida en función de algún conjunto o dominio de ellas mismas. Para un mejor entendimiento de tales conjuntos son presentados a niveles de presupuestos generales, de conceptos teóricos y de procedimientos empíricos.

Searching for the reason behind the differences in individual practices, we have tried to change the usual questions that are made. Instead of asking which are the hidden processes that produce the practice, it would be better to investigate what is the basis of the meaning of individual practices, that is to say how a basis to the meaning of the psychological terms is established. Looking for common elements in similar proposals to ours, we conclude that each practice under study inevitably acquires a meaning because it belongs to a body or dominion formed by itself and others that are previous in time. As a result, if as individuals we act in different ways in the same situations it is because the relevant dominions of each one makes the said situations different for each person. Using this as a base, we have drawn up some characteristics and possible cases for such dominions ; we consider different uses of such a notion, as well as aspects of it that need to be developed to a greater extent.
